About Me

I am from Freeland, Michigan.  I came to Western in 2019 and graduated with my undergraduate degree in 2023.  I completed my Masters in Teaching in summer of 2024 and began teaching right after.  I have been in the Kalamazoo area since then and have been loving it!

Teaching Philosophy

Everyone will have a place in my class.  I want our class to be a safe space where you feel comfortable enough to be uncomfortable about the topic that are brought up.  There are no wrong answers in literature, and this class will be discussion based.  Our class will be a place to publish your writing in different ways.

Personal Life

Reading has always been something that I have loved.  My favorite genre is fantasy YA and have read hundreds of those novels.  Reading is so important to me and literature is my favorite art expression.  My dogs and my cat are also very important to me.  I have three pugs, Mannie, Walter, and Lucy, and one cat. Bugz.  They are crazy and I love them!  I also love movies, The Dead Poets Society is one that inspired me to be a teacher.  My favorite singer is Taylor Swift.
